WPIAL Ticket Update

Please see the message below from WPIAL Chair, Ann Drew:

Hello WPIAL families!

Unfortunately we have not received ANY information about WPIAL tickets.  Other schools have not either and we have been calling WPIAL and they still haven’t provided ticket details.  Therefore…I am going to proceed with the assumption that the same process is used in 2024 as previous years.  WPIAL does state on the website that “Tickets for the Swimming Championships are only available at the gate.”  

Based on this, we will plan as we did in previous years.  We have a great group of student athletes competing in the WPIAL Swimming Championship on Feb 20 and March 1, 2024 (Thursday and Friday morning) at Trees Hall, University of Pittsburgh. We encourage all parents and varsity swimmers that want to come out and support the team as the meet is VERY exciting to watch. I’m reaching out to coordinate the WPIAL tickets needed for each day as we will have a group of people going down early to ensure we can have seats for everyone on both days. Please note that the event schedule for each day is below as they do not follow the typical order of events in a high school dual meet. Please also note that I am compiling a list of total tickets per day as all tickets are a single price this year of $10 no matter if you are an adult or student. Also note that only students that are a swimmer on USC Varsity that wish to attend will be granted an excused absence from the school by Coach Dave. All students that attend and are NOT swimming in the meet will need to have a ride and will not be allowed on deck.

•  Please fill out the google document in the link enclosed and note the TOTAL tickets that you will need for EACH DAY; Please fill out your information so we can plan appropriately; 
• I will coordinate the purchase of the total tickets on Thursday and Friday Morning at the gymnasium
• We will NOT be sleeping out overnight for tickets.  We will however be sending out a sign-up sheet for volunteers to arrive at 4 am and 6 am to get in line and ensure we have enough people to get the necessary tickets.  Each person is allowed to purchase 4 tickets.  Again…more details to follow later today or tomorrow.
•  I will distribute the wristbands (Tickets) to our group starting at 7:30AM each morning in the Trees Hall Gymnasium which is to the right of the actual swimming pool and collect $10 for each wristband distributed OR you can Venmo me     @Regan-Drew  (last 4 digits of phone number for my Venmo are 8584)
